My, what a dashing fellow this ~LelaelGalae is! Seriously though, this kid is one of my greatest pals from back in the snowy dunes of Labrador. He's fairly new to dA, and he's a talented new writer. I think we should all take this moment to click on of these many icons:

recipe time! homemade hot chocolate!

okay, okay. i know i've been putting up a lot of journals, but i really feel the need to share this.

i was lying down today after spending a good few hours cleaning my room, and as always i popped on the food network. chef at home is one of my favourites, with michael smith - that studly canadian - as the host. the episode featured an orange ginger beef stew, a coffee cake dessert baked and served in coffee mugs, and (in my opinion) the best kitchen creation- hot chocolate.

except this is hot chocolate with a kick. so for those of you out there who haven't heard of doing something like this with your hot chocolate, you've got to make this!

this is what you do:

-add milk to a pot
-add cacao powder (lots, cause it's an antioxidant, and it's delicious!)
-add brown sugar
-add a dash of cayenne pepper for heat
-vanilla extract makes the flavours work together!

note measurements are a judgement call, because michael smith doesn't use a recipe and so he doesn't tell us how much of what to add. unless it's a lot of cacao powder.

when i made mine, i let the milk heat up before i started adding ingredients, and then by the time i was done adding them it was hot enough to serve. also, i added a little bit of cinnamon, because i'm an absolute fiend for all things cinnamon.

so yeah, seeing cayenne pepper added to hot chocolate was something i've never seen, because i'm used to the typical packets or cacao powder, milk, and granulated white sugar.

so that's about all i'd like to share. hope you all enjoy this as much as i do!

i woke up cold, sick, and just plain sour. not a great way to start the day. so as i was waiting for mother to finishing cleaning the bathroom so i could make a mess out of it with a shower, i popped on the computer.

and holy crud, found out that i got a freaking daily lit deviation! it's exciting! i'm excited! my day has gotten exponentially better and i've even made a deal with my sore throat so we can both enjoy ourselves!

and look at that excessive amount of exclamation point!

okay i'll stop gushing all over you guys.

so, here's a bigbigbig shout-out to =Pickled-Poppy for featuring me, and an even bigger thanks. <33

and congratulations to the others who have won a dld!

now i just have to figure out this stamp business. but for now, i shall put links!
